Welcome to Alpha Omega Fitness Training
There are quite a few personal trainers and personal training websites available to the discerning consumer. While the claim, “quite a few personal trainers”, may be considered an understatement, it is nonetheless axiomatic. A simple Google search for the words “personal fitness trainer” will yield over 21 million hits. A more refined search may prune the results; however, you are still left with a plethora of choices.
The fact that you are here and not there indicates that you are not rudderless and cast adrift on a sea of fitness possibilities. In other words, there is a reason that you are here and it is to that end I wish to address.
In an article I wrote for the local newspaper entitled “In The Mirror”, I set about the task of enumerating the roots of people’s distaste for exercising. However, I concluded that,” in order to find the root cause of the problem we need look no further than a mirror.” I don’t exercise and you don’t exercise, it’s as simple as that: add any more and you have an excuse. We are like the negative of a “Nike” commercial in that we just don’t do it.
Is this an oversimplification? Of course. In reality, the statements “I exercise, therefore I exercise” and “I don’t exercise because I don’t exercise” are ridiculous. The hideous truth is, as human beings, we operate on pleasure versus pain and reward versus punishment based upon wants, desires, and needs. This then leads to the excuses for not exercising, but it can also lead to the motivations for exercising. This is why you are here.
No one is going to lift weights for the sake of lifting weights. Similarly, no one is going to run on a track for the sake of running. What you and I need is a reason. Thus, it is no coincidence that our motto is, “The beginning and final destination of your fitness goals.” Because, before you ever step into a gym or jog/walk your first mile you had better have a goal. If the genesis of your fitness endeavor does not include a goal then all of your energy and effort become undirected, purposeless and subsequently pointless.
What we try to do is help you find that fitness goal, nurture it, and work toward it. Eventually, it becomes more than a goal or motivation or justification; it becomes what I call a transcendent cause. For when your fitness wants, desires, or needs dove-tail with a goal to become a transcendent cause you will make the time to pursue them.
